Diary - Mile 266.

Still walking. Still desert, although now it’s windy and cold. Well, desert cold, like 25C. Can’t believe I only saw one rattle snake and even that one was in a man’s backyard. I hear scorpions glow in the dark, but saw 0 of those, unfortunately. Two tarantulas. I think wildlife avoids me. But my favorite thing is still the trees. Man, the thickness of those trees. TREEEEES!

This is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever read.

So you’re carrying a third of your weight in a bagpack, you try ditching useless grams, you make grunts each time you haul it on your back, then you visit a shop and uuuuu, Christmas lights! What’s another 50g. Best purchase ever. No regrets.
